Interested in organizing a playgroup?
Considered serving on the Board of Directors?
Wanted to facilitate a support group?
Then think about volunteering your time with Rainbow Families!
As a small volunteer driven non-profit, we depend on you! Without volunteers like you, the events, classes, and activities we provide would not be possible.
Organize a Playgroup
Volunteer to organize a playgroup in your area. We are always looking for volunteers to help initiate playgroups throughout the DMV. Volunteers serve
as the playgroup coordinator and help to welcome families who attend.
As a volunteer, you determine the playgroup's date, time and location
that works best for you, and we’ll help spread the word to families in
your area. One-time commitments are always welcome!
Coordinate a Group Outing
We are always looking for volunteers to help organize outings for families such as a hike, trip to a museum, a performance, a sporting event, paintball, etc. Volunteering is pretty simple. You pick an event or activity that interests your family. Then, you let us know the details and a meet up location so other families can join you. It is a simple, straight-forward way to volunteer while connecting with other families and helping build community. One-time commitments are welcome.
Hold a Workshop or Other Event
If you are a professional who would like to share your knowledge and expertise with our families, you are welcome to volunteer to organize an educational event, info session, or workshop. Our families are always looking for a safe, supportive and welcoming learning environment created when surrounded by other LGBTQ parents and families.
Facilitate a Support Group
you have a background in group facilitation or a comparable skill set,
you can volunteer to lead and facilitate a support group - such as a
Pregnancy Support Group, Adoption Support Group, or Surrogacy Support
